On one hand, the auto combos are a good way for anybody new to the game to get in some decent damage without learning the ins and outs of the combo system. Technically, there’s nothing stopping you from still using the traditional juggle combos that you would use in Mortal Kombat 2, although a couple of auto-combos will do just as much damage as one of the more complex custom combos. Some characters only have about three or four auto-combos to use, while others, like Sonya, have up to seven. And so, the survivors have to fight their way to Shao Kahn, kill him once more, and save what’s left of the world.ĭial-a-combos, which are rather common in 3D fighters, but pretty rare in 2D ones, are basically a string of buttons you hit in sequence to pull off an automatic combo. Raiden manages to protect the lives of the returning characters, but since he has no power in Outworld, he’s out of the fight. Not only that, but he has a new plan to conquer Earthrealm, this time skipping over the whole ‘tournament’ thing entirely. It turns out Shao Kahn wasn’t quite dead, despite quite clearly turning into stone and exploding at the end of MK2. Unfortunately, this is the point in the fighting game genre where Capcom and SNK were beginning to take some bold new steps, and MK3 doesn’t really do too much to change up the engine or the typical mechanics that make up an MK game. There’s a new setting for all the violence to take place in, new gameplay mechanics, new secrets, new characters, and with that, a whole lot of new fatalities. Some of them worked, while others don’t work quite so well. But this time around, instead of just taking the original Mortal Kombat and polishing it, a few new ideas were added in.

With as much popularity as the series had, another sequel was inevitable. Merchandise was being made, comics were being published, and talks of a major motion picture were in the air. Up until today many fans still play Mortal Kombat 3.After the release of Mortal Kombat 2, the series had nowhere to go but up. All in all many fans say that Mortal Kombat 3 was the best game in the series franchise. Some reviews also said that Mortal Kombat 3 suffered from lackluster gameplay and needlessly finishing moves like animality and some crappy character designs. It also avoided the previous tournament story line of its predecessors and opting for as various warriors instead fight against the returning Shao Khan and hos resurrected bride Sindel that has started the invasion of the Earth realm.Īlthough Mortal Kombat 3 was commercially successful many disliked the inclusion of of the less appealing new characters which took the placed of established characters like Scorpion and Kitana. It has added new characters and omitted some well known characters from the previous game. A combo was also added and a run bottom to dash the other player. It was a direct sequel to Mortal Kombat 2 and introduced 2 fatalities and babality also a new finishing move called animality, where the character will transform into an animal before killing off the defeated opponent. It was later released to different consoles in the following years. Mortal Kombat was a fighting game introduced in 1995 as an arcacde game and was published by Williams Entertainment now known as Midway Games. Now I really wish I had a Sega Genesis Console to be able to try it out and experience playing it in this console.

When I was holding this game I remembered fondly having played this when I was still a kid but in an arcade and a different console.
It was still complete, it has a box, cartridge, and a game manual. Mortal Kombat 3 was also one of the games that was included in the bunch of Sega Genesis games that was brought to me by one of my worker.
